Cutting Edge Digital Media Topic

My selected cutting-edge digital media topic is Artificial Intelligence and its effects on mental health communication. AI is changing how people seek support, use wellness tools, access information, and communicate online. This topic matters because digital media now plays a major role in emotional support, public health information, identity, and community connection.

History and Evolution

Digital mental health began with simple informational websites, online support forums, and telehealth tools. Over time, it evolved into mobile apps, wearable technology, wellness platforms, conversational chatbots, and now generative AI systems. These tools can improve access and awareness, but they also raise concerns about privacy, accuracy, bias, emotional dependence, and the need for human oversight.

Main Research Areas

Benefits

AI can improve access to wellness support, mental health education, reflection tools, and helpful resources.

Risks

AI can create misinformation, privacy problems, bias, and emotional overreliance on automated tools.

Ethics

Responsible AI requires transparency, human oversight, source evaluation, and protection of sensitive data.

Media Literacy

Users must question AI-generated content, check sources, and understand that AI can make mistakes.

Ethical Content Curation

This webpage curates content ethically by summarizing research in my own words, crediting sources, avoiding unsupported medical claims, and using multimedia to support learning. This page is for academic and informational purposes only. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace care from licensed mental health professionals.

Professional Brand Connection

Draconic Realms Creations connects storytelling, digital media, branding, gaming, music, and communication with purpose. This project supports my brand by showing that creative media can also be ethical, research-based, educational, and socially meaningful.

AI Usage Statement

Artificial intelligence was used as a support tool for brainstorming, organizing webpage structure, improving clarity, and assisting with visual concept development. Final responsibility for content, research interpretation, ethical decisions, and design choices remains my own.
